Leavenworth itinerary scene

Weekend itinerary

Front Street, Icicle Creek, and the Wenatchee River

Walk the Bavarian village Friday, use Saturday for Icicle Creek or a Cascade trail, then finish Sunday at Waterfront Park or a bakery.

By Cal Mercer — a Second Star Guide itinerary

Leavenworth pairs a compact Bavarian village with the Wenatchee River, Icicle Creek, and Cascade trailheads.

Best length

2 nights

Two nights allow a village evening, one substantial Cascade outing, and a final river walk without repeating the same Front Street circuit.

Stay

Bavarian Lodge

A walkable first-visit choice across from the village core, close to Front Street restaurants, shops, and winter…

Main activity

Front Street and Icicle Creek

Front Street and Icicle Creek show both halves of Leavenworth: the deliberate Bavarian village and the Cascade landscape behind it.

Pace

Village and Cascade weekend

Suitable for travelers who want one full outdoor outing plus Front Street food, shops, and evening lights.

Friday

Check in, walk Front Street, and dine at Andreas Keller.

Start at Front Street Park, browse the village core, and reserve Andreas Keller for the first German dinner of the weekend.

Saturday

Drive Icicle Road for the Icicle Gorge loop.

Eat at the Gingerbread Factory, follow Icicle Road to the Icicle Gorge trail, and return to town before a Watershed dinner. Use Waterfront Park only when trail or road conditions rule out the canyon.

4:30 PM

Afternoon

Return to the hotel before Watershed dinner.

Drive back from Icicle Road with enough time to shower, park once, and walk through Front Street before the dinner reservation.

Sunday

Walk Waterfront Park, then stop at the Gingerbread Factory.

Follow the Wenatchee River path beneath the cottonwoods, pick up coffee and pastries in the village, and leave time for US 2 or the pass crossing home.
